Hi! I considered doing a back-to-school vocab list but I figured I might as well finish on that smol town vocab thing so… maybe next time ;)
Btw I’ll try to put in more terms for British English from now on, because I feel like I’ve been prioritizing American English when that’s not the form everyone uses.
Le quartier = the neighborhood
Le voisin = the neighbor
L’église (f.) = the church
La mosquée = the mosque
La synagogue = the synagogue
Le temple = the temple
La maison = the house
L’immeuble = the apartment complex/block
Le parking = the parking lot
L’école (f.) = the school
L’école maternelle (f.) = preschool, kindergarten
L’école primaire (f.) = primary school, elementary school
Le collège = middle school, junior high
Le lycée = high school
L’université, la fac = university, college
Pôle Emploi = the job centre, the unemployment office
La pharmacie = the pharmacy, the drugstore
Le cabinet médical = the doctor’s office
L’hôpital (m.) = the hospital
La mairie = the city/town hall
Le marché = the market
La gare = the station
L’arrêt de bus (m.) = the bus stop
Le magasin, la boutique = the shop, the store
Le supermarché = the supermarket
Le centre commercial = the shopping mall
La boulangerie = the bakery
La boucherie = the butcher’s
L’épicerie (f.) = the grocery, the local shop
